About Me

​Hello, my name is Stefanie Mendoza and I am pleased to offer a Montessori preschool program in a warm, nurturing environment in my home. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from York University and an AMI Montessori Teaching diploma from the Foundation for Montessori Education in Toronto. I am CPR and First Aid Certified.

Before my daughter was born in 2008, I worked as a directress in a Montessori school for 3 years and then in the kindergarten program at the Mabin School. I started My Neighbourhood Montessori in January of 2011. In 2024 I trained in Orton-Gillingham with the Great Word House reading and spelling program. ​I love witnessing the joy and pride that a child feels when they have accomplished a task. I love watching the children develop relationships with one another. I love listening to the stories they tell. I love how enthusiastically the children take on new skills.
